The Historical Inventory Report in Sumtracker allows you to look back at your inventory levels as they were at a specific date and time, from the moment your store was connected to Sumtracker. This report is designed to show your inventory quantities at that moment, along with an inventory valuation.
What Does the Historical Inventory Report Provide?
You get a snapshot of your inventory quantities for a selected date and time, showing the stock levels as they were then. This is useful for end-of-month reporting, audits, or tracking stock movement.
You also get the valuation for the past inventory. The total cost shown in this report is calculated using the most recent updated cost price of your products. This helps in determining the value of your stock at any point in time.
Sumtracker does not store the cost from past dates, so even when viewing historical inventory levels, the total cost displayed reflects the current cost price of each item.
Key Points to Remember
Included Products: Only regular products and components are shown in the report. Bundles are not included, as their inventory is calculated based on the inventory of individual components.
Current Cost Only: The report shows inventory data from a selected past date, but valuation relies on today’s product cost. So, if you export a report for December 31st, the cost shown will reflect each product’s current price, not the cost as of December 31st.
