🏷️ What is a Primary Listing?

A Primary Listing in Sumtracker is the main online listing that a product is linked to. This listing acts as the source of truth for product information like:

  • Product Name

  • Variant Name

  • Images

  • Category

  • Tags

When multiple listings (from same stores or different stores) are linked to the same SKU, Sumtracker will use the Primary Listing to update and display product details in the product catalog.

This ensures consistency and avoids mismatches when product info varies across channels.

🔧 How to Set a Primary Listing

You can set the Primary Listing for your SKUs in two ways:

1. From the Store Details Page

This method is ideal when you want to prioritize product data from a specific store.

  • Go to Dashboard > Click on the Store Name from the list

  • Scroll to the Settings section on the store details page

  • Click the “Make all listings primary” button

On the same page, you can go to the Online listings tab.

You can view and export all listings (and see which ones are primary) from the Online Listings tab.

🛠️ What this does:

This action marks all listings from this store as the Primary Listing for their respective SKUs in Sumtracker.

If a SKU has multiple listings within this store, the first listing will be chosen as primary.

Use this option if you want the product data—like name, image, and variant name—from this channel to take precedence over others.

⚠️ Important: If the “Product information overwrite” setting is turned off for a channel, Sumtracker will ignore the Primary Listing and not update product details (like name, image, or variant name) from that listing.

2. From the Product Details Page

This method is useful for managing individual products manually.

  • Go to the Products > Click on the Product SKU > Navigate to Listings tab

  • Select the listing by marking the checkbox

  • Click the “Mark Primary” button at the bottom of the screen

This sets the selected listing as the source of truth for the product’s data in Sumtracker.

💡 Tip: You can always change the Primary Listing later if product details change or another listing becomes more reliable.

📌 Note: Going forward, any new SKU you create on your store will automatically be marked as the primary listing for the newly fetched product in Sumtracker — no extra steps required.
