If your product in Sumtracker is linked to only one listing and one store, you can change the SKU directly on your store, and this change will automatically reflect in the corresponding product in Sumtracker.

However, if a product in Sumtracker is linked to multiple listings or stores (with the same SKU), changing the SKU requires a different approach. In this case, follow the steps outlined below. This ensures that the same product in Sumtracker remains linked to your online listings. By following these steps, all existing data, including sales history, inventory logs, bundles, and purchase order information, will remain intact.

Step 1: Disable Data Sync

  • Navigate to the store settings page from the dashboard.

  • Click on "Disable data sync" for all the stores. Please ensure that you have disabled the data sync on all the stores that have the SKUs you will be changing.

Do not turn off the sync for your store; use the "Disable Data Sync" option instead.

Why Disable Data Sync?

Disabling data sync temporarily halts all syncing of listings, orders, and inventory. This step is crucial to prevent duplicate SKUs from being created in Sumtracker. You must re-enable data sync after completing all the following steps. This process can be repeated if you are changing SKUs in multiple sessions.

Step 2: Change SKUs in Sumtracker

With data sync disabled, proceed to change the SKUs for products in Sumtracker.

  • In Sumtracker, SKUs can be changed in bulk by exporting and importing the Product list. Be sure to keep the first column "id" intact during import.

  • Verify the number of listings a product is linked to using the "Online Listings" column in the Product List.

Step 3: Change SKUs in the Online Channels

Once the SKUs are updated in Sumtracker, you have to update the SKUs on all the corresponding online listings.

Ensure that the new SKUs are consistent between Sumtracker and all online stores.

Ensure that you have updated the SKUs on all linked online stores and in Sumtracker before re-enabling data sync.

Step 4: Enable Data Sync back for all stores

Once SKUs are changed in both Sumtracker and all linked online stores, re-enable data sync from the store settings page. When the data sync is turned back on, it resumes the syncing of all your listings, orders and inventory between your stores and Sumtracker.

If you are changing SKUs in batches, repeat steps 1 to 4 for each session.
