Sumtracker allows you to connect multiple stores and manage inventory for all your stores from one central account. These can include multiple stores on the same platform, like several Shopify stores, or from different platforms, such as Etsy, WooCommerce, or Amazon.
You can find detailed instructions on connecting stores in this article.
Here are some best practices to follow when connecting multiple stores to Sumtracker:
1. Identical Products Across Stores
If your new store carries the same products as your already connected stores, make sure the SKUs for identical products are consistent across all stores.
Why it’s important: Sumtracker relies on SKUs to identify and sync products across your stores. If SKUs are not consistent, Sumtracker won’t be able to link and update the inventory correctly, which could lead to inventory mismatches.
2. Managing Different Products Across Stores
If your new store has a completely different set of products, Sumtracker will treat them separately, and it won’t impact the existing products from your other stores. You can manage and track inventory independently across different stores.
Best Practice: Review your product catalog and ensure that unique SKUs are assigned to every product, even if they’re on different stores.
3. Handling Warehouses for Multiple Stores
When connecting a new store, you can either link it to existing warehouses in Sumtracker or create new warehouses if the store uses different stock locations.
If using shared warehouses: Link the new store to the relevant warehouses already in Sumtracker. This ensures that the same inventory stock levels are managed across all connected stores.
If using different warehouses: Create new warehouses in Sumtracker for the store’s unique stock locations. You can then manage inventory separately for those warehouses.

By following these best practices, you'll ensure accurate inventory sync across all your stores and platforms, minimizing overselling or stock discrepancies. If you run into any issues or need assistance, feel free to reach out to our support team.
