How Sumtracker works with eBay and Etsy

eBay

Sumtracker supports a direct integration with eBay. Once connected, inventory levels are kept in sync automatically — Sumtracker checks for changes and pushes updates roughly every 7–8 minutes. You don’t need to click anything manually once the sync is turned on.

To connect your eBay store, go to Sales Channels in Sumtracker and click Connect next to eBay. You’ll be taken to eBay’s authorization page to approve access. If you sell on multiple platforms and your products carry the same SKU everywhere, Sumtracker will link those listings together so a sale on any channel reduces the shared stock count.

A few things to keep in mind:

Sumtracker’s eBay integration supports inventory sync. Unlike the Shopify integration, there is no “Sumtracker as master” vs. “eBay as master” toggle — sync is simply on or off for each store.
If a product is connected to multiple stores (for example, eBay and Shopify), Sumtracker uses a Primary Listing setting to determine which store’s data takes precedence for product name updates. If you change a product title in Shopify but it isn’t updating in Sumtracker, check whether eBay is set as the Primary Listing for that product.
When connecting a second eBay account, log out of all existing eBay sessions first, then click Connect to authenticate the new account separately.
If you run into an authorization error during connection, try completing the flow in an incognito browser window. If the problem persists, contact support.

Etsy

Etsy is one of Sumtracker’s most commonly used integrations. Inventory syncs automatically, and orders flow into Sumtracker so that stock levels adjust correctly across all your connected stores.

Connecting your Etsy store:

Go to Sales Channels in Sumtracker.
Click Connect next to Etsy.
You’ll be redirected to Etsy to authorize the connection.

If your Etsy store is already connected to another Sumtracker account, you’ll see an error during setup. Contact support and they can remove the store from the old account so you can connect it to the correct one.

What the Etsy integration supports:

Automatic inventory sync (on/off toggle — there is no master/source setting for Etsy the way there is for Shopify).
Order sync, which is required alongside inventory sync. Sumtracker does not support enabling inventory sync alone without order sync.

Listing statuses: Etsy listings can be active, inactive, or draft. Sumtracker maps to whichever listings are live. If you have questions about how a specific listing status is handled, reach out to support.

Giving Sumtracker access to your Etsy account: When support needs to investigate an issue, they may ask for access to your Etsy store. Note that Etsy’s permission model requires adding someone as a “Production Assistant,” which is a public-facing role. You are not obligated to do this — as an alternative, you can share your login credentials temporarily and change your password once the session is complete.

Note: If you are using products variants on your Etsy listings, ensure that that the setting “Quantities vary”

Steps to Set Varying Quantities

Go to your Etsy Shop Manager, go to a Listings and to the Variations section.
Add or select your variation types (such as size or color).
Check or toggle the box that says "Quantities vary" for that specific variation type and save

You can connect multiple Sumtracker warehouses to your Ebay and Etsy stores from Sales channels > Settings > Warehouse connections page
