Stocked vs. Not Stocked: Controlling Which Products Appear in Each Warehouse

By default, Sumtracker adds every new product to all of your warehouses. If you only carry certain products at certain locations, you can mark products as Not Stocked at the warehouses where they do not belong.

What “Not Stocked” means in practice:

  • The product is hidden from your main inventory page and inventory exports for that warehouse.
  • Its inventory level becomes inactive — no sync is pushed to Shopify for that warehouse.
  • Inventory numbers may still appear under the Not Stocked filter inside Sumtracker, but those figures are not sent to your sales channels.
  • At the moment, Not Stocked products still appear in some reports such as the Stock Valuation report. The Sumtracker team has flagged this as a known limitation and is working to exclude non-stocked products from those reports in a future update.

To prevent all new products from being automatically added to a warehouse going forward, you can change the default stocking behaviour in your warehouse settings. The support team can walk you through that video: How to disable automatic stocking of all products in your warehouse.
