Set up your suppliers and costs

Sumtracker lets you bring your existing supplier information across in a few different ways, depending on how much detail you want to migrate.

Importing suppliers from Shopify

If you have vendors specified on your Shopify product listings, Sumtracker can import them as suppliers automatically.

  • Each Shopify vendor is created as a supplier in Sumtracker.
  • The vendor is automatically assigned as the primary supplier for the corresponding product.
  • Product costs from Shopify can also be imported as supplier prices and product costs in Sumtracker.

To enable these imports, head to the channel settings page for your Shopify store and turn on the relevant settings.

Supplier and cost imports happen when you turn on the inventory sync for that channel. Make sure these settings are configured before you enable the sync.

Importing detailed product supplier information

Shopify only carries basic vendor information. To bring in details like supplier SKU, MOQ, and other supplier-product specifics, use one of Sumtracker's import flows.

Option 1: Import primary suppliers

Use this when each product has only one supplier.

You can access this from the Import primary suppliers link on the product list page. This imports one supplier per product, set as the primary.

Option 2: Import product suppliers

Use this when a product has multiple suppliers.

You can access this from the Import product suppliers link on the supplier list page. This lets you import multiple suppliers per product, along with their supplier-specific details (Supplier SKU, MOQ, price, etc.).

Choose the right import based on your setup: single-supplier products → Import primary suppliers. Multi-supplier products → Import product suppliers.
